The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade
The parade, now 120 years running, began in 1890 with flower-decorated horse-and-buggies and an afternoon of public games on the town lot near Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. It was designed to resemble the festival of roses in Nice, France. It has grown into the biggest and most famous parade in the world, with a TV audience of 400 million and nother million along the parade route.

The 2009 Rose Parade
The 120th parade is themed, Hats Off to Entertainment, a salute to “the parade as a collection of American’s greatest entertainers,” according to 2009 Rose Parade President, Ronald (Corky) Conzonire, Chairman of the Board for C & J Food Company, which owns and operates 10 restaurants in Southern California, including “The Hat.” The parade will take place on Thursday, January 1, 2009, at 8 a.m. (PST). The 95th Rose Bowl Game will follow in Pasadena’s legendary stadium at 2 p.m. Visit the official website at www.tournamentofroses.com.
